92 Point Score in The Wine Spectator
Exuding both ripe cherry fruit flavor and a smoky overtone, this red is distinctive and vibrant. Earth, spice and mineral elements add depth and the firm, yet integrated structure gives this some grip. Fine length.

Generous amounts of wood and menthol do fight with the black pinot fruit liqueur-like aromas. Exceptionally dense with impressive amounts of dry extract that impart a velvety mouth feel to the opulent finish where a hint of bitter cherry pit arises. This is also extremely ripe and while it's not jammy, it's close. I would suggest this for those who enjoy super-rich and lavishly wooded burgundies and while it certainly has the material to age, it should drink well almost immediately.
